NORTHERN TROPHY WHITETAIL!! Hunt exactly as you would in Saskatchewan or Alberta but without the logistic headaches or the insane prices. These deer are big, grain and alfalfa-fed northern whitetail bucks. Think southern British Columbia or northern Idaho. Here’s is an all-inclusive, fully-guided, late-season, archery whitetail deer hunt. This hunt takes place in late November and early December during the time mature bucks come out to investigate. Northeast Washington is a little known trophy hunting hotbed and Archery Outfitters is the only outfitter with guiding privileges on the Colville National Forest in the best units in the northeastern part of Washington state.

One of my outfitters from Washington just sent me a bunch of pictures from his trail cams he has set up. These are some great pics and if you are an archer you will want to check out his hunting area for sure. He offers fully outfitted archery Elk/Whitetail combo. Check out the photo album from the home page to see all the photos.

Below is an update from my outfitter.

For more details call Greg Ray 918 407 2586 or email greg@outdoor-connection.com

We incorporated Trail cameras in to our operation this year, We jumped in with both feet, loading up on the cameras (IR.40 Moultrie) We bought lap tops just to help manage all the pic’s, We got and we got a load of them, ending the season with a little over 137,000. pic’s and out of those we save 6700 of the best ones to study and share.

The single biggest asset to having all the cameras was being able to target the big deer. They were for the most part, not at the kind of bait that we would normally hunt, the baits we use to hunt had the most activity on them looking like a feed lot for cattle but come to find out the biggest bucks were together…………………….. And on the same baits all season long with the exception of a little roaming in the pre and post rut. The bid bucks lived in our thickest areas, where it was imposable to hunt them any other way, than over a bait and from a tree, and nastier and the harder to get to, the better the quality of the animals and the more comfortable they are with coming in, in the day time..

The feed stations for these big bucks are not near as tore up. Unlike the one that most like to hunt. by the end of the season we could pick out a spot…………….. put a bait thereb and have a P&Y buck on it 8 out of 10 times…..The Bulls, same story although the bull elk turned out to be more loyal and stay on the bait not leave like cows did after 3 or 4 days
